A Red Carpet Ball Hold at Flagler’s Kenan Pavilion
Forget about the westbound car carriers and JetBlue’s sold-out LaGuardia flights. The surest harbinger of end-of-season is the Red Carpet Ball of the Junior Assembly of Palm Beach.
The cotillion’s 65th year ended April 10 at the Flagler Museum’s Kenan Pavilion.
Children from kindergarten through fifth grade donned the mandatory fancy dress — party dresses and white gloves for the girls; navy blue blazers and ties for the boys — and demonstrated the dance and etiquette skills drilled into their heads and feet by dance teachers Sara and Adam Boyd, and etiquette instructor Wendy Fernsell.
Possessed of infinite patience, those three are.
Monnie Gilder is 2012-2013 chairwoman for the Junior Assembly of Palm Beach, with Jean Koeppel serving as co-chairwoman.
Committee members are Marie Leidy, Deborah Hale, Erin McGould, Connie Smith, Sara Skillern and Lori Bernstein.
The Palm Beach Orchestra provides the music for the assembly.
